From Brian:
"The Elements Series explores fundamental materials and forces through layered paper constructions and recessed space. Each work contains a chamber — a defined void that holds and concentrates the presence of an element. Earth, water, fire, air and elemental metals are distilled into quiet, contained forms. As light moves across the surface, subtle shadows settle into the recesses, creating depth and shifting atmospheres.
A companion to Tidal Moon I, this work explores the same elemental force through an alternative arrangement of colour and form, where a luminous silver centre reflects the changing relationship between moonlight, water and time."

Each unique work is made from hand-cut, layered acid-free paper, sealed with a protective finish and presented in an oak box frame.
