From Brian:
"The Elements Series explores fundamental materials and forces through layered paper constructions and recessed space. Each work contains a chamber — a defined void that holds and concentrates the presence of an element. Earth, water, fire, air and elemental metals are distilled into quiet, contained forms. As light moves across the surface, subtle shadows settle into the recesses, creating depth and shifting atmospheres.
Inspired by the moon's quiet influence upon the tides, shifting hues of blue, green and violet surround a luminous silver centre, evoking the enduring relationship between the sea, the moon and the rhythms of nature."

Each unique work is made from hand-cut, layered acid-free paper, sealed with a protective finish and presented in an oak box frame.
