André van Lier is part of the tradition of concrete art as such his sculptural work is that of an artist, a designer and an architect. André was born in Den Hague and studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (1966-1971). He became a well-known abstract architect, sculptor, and environmental artist, working on a large scale.
To this day, André lives and works in The Hague.
His work was part of solo and group exhibitions in the United States and many European countries, such as the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Italy, United Kingdom, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Austria and Switzerland. Today André van Lier's works can be found in private collections as well as in museums in the Netherlands and abroad.
Several large monumental works can be found in the public space of his hometown, The Hague.
