From Brian: "Dell explores the idea of a sheltered hollow or hidden valley — a quiet place of retreat suggested through layered contours and shifting shadows. The work evokes the calm and protection of an enclosed landscape, inviting the viewer to look inward toward a place of stillness and refuge.
The paper sculptures in the Refuge Series explore the idea of refuge through organic and constructed forms inspired by both natural landscapes and man-made shelters. Each piece suggests a serene, protective space — a reflection of the calm and safety found in places of retreat."
