"White Beach" is a fine art photograph by Lynn Savarese that captures the clean, abstract elegance of shoreline and water. Printed on Hahnemühle William Turner Paper and presented in a white-washed maple wood frame, this limited edition work (of 10) exemplifies Savarese's signature approach to photographing water. Water is one of Savarese's favorite subjects to explore and photograph, and to capture it, she has traveled far and wide—from the Hamptons, the Adirondacks, Martha's Vineyard, the Caribbean, and Iceland. Her Water series transforms intimate observations of nature into poetic, emotionally resonant images that balance abstraction, texture, and subtle narrative. Savarese does not aim for perfect replication of what she sees; instead, she is especially drawn to nature's many abstract and painterly renderings, seeking out their metaphoric content and layering in her own emotions through occasional manipulations of color and light. For Savarese, the greatest joy of photography is the experience of intimate observation of elements from the natural world, and how her images often serve as metaphoric portraits of her own thoughts and feelings. As humankind's most intimate and nurturing companion in nature, water provides in countless essential ways, and this work honors the profound wonder and gratitude it inspires.
