"alors, j'emballe, je regroupe le materiel et j'attaque... Ce moment là est comme suspendu."
Born in Brussels on June 21, 1973, Valou Kervyn discovered her passion for drawing and painting at the early age of 10 through a local weekly art workshop. Ever since Valou has been intrigued by colour combinations, shapes and the emotions they evoke. After completing her humanities in arts, she pursued studies in graphic design at the prestigeous École de Recherche Graphique (ERG) and École du 75 in Brussels.
In 2012 she established an interior design network bringing together artists, a project she still manages today. Valou's days are filled with colour, materials, movement, research and fun in her beautiful bright home studio. She continues to refine her skills through evening illustration courses with well knows artists such as Alain Goffin.
Valou Kervyn's work has been described as “colorful rhythms… a space of geometric freedom and superimposed emotions”. Her artistic philosophy echoes that of Vincent Van Gogh: “I dream my painting, and then I paint my dream”. As such her paintings are an expression of her emotions. "Expressive by nature, coupled with a strong sensitivity, I project the feelings of the moment mixed with the emotions felt during the construction and organization of the canvas in my head."
