Born to a Dominican mother and a Belgian father, Michael Peetermans lives and work in Herne, Belgium. He spent his formative years in Paris where he grew to love the culture, art and music. After his studies in design, printing, and typesetting he worked as a graphic designer before he became a full time artist in 2013. His first series "René Casso" was an unequivocal success exploring "What if Picasso were a Belgian artist?".
As a visual artist, Michael seeks to push boundaries, often to provoke, challenge and question societal norms. Using discarded objects, the mussels, he creates sculptures reminiscing of his childhood in Paris and his favourite dish.
