"The Gem Series explores the depth and hidden beauty of gemstones through layered sculptural paper constructions inspired by colour, light and geological form. Recessed spaces, shadow and reflected light evoke hidden caverns, seams and illuminated pockets within the earth where gemstones are formed and discovered.

Delicate shifts of colour and light suggest the luminous, changing surface of an opal concealed within the earth."
Each unique work is made from hand-cut, layered acid-free paper, sealed with a protective finish and presented in an oak box frame.
