In Verdant, the deep, radial form suggests a contained green basin, drawing the eye inward toward a protected space at its centre — a place of refuge held at the lowest point of the landscape. Light settles into the hollow while shadow gathers along its circular rim, reinforcing a sense of enclosure, quiet growth, and natural protection.
The paper sculptures in the Refuge Series explore the idea of refuge through organic and constructed forms inspired by both natural landscapes and man-made shelters. Each piece suggests a serene, protective space — a reflection of the calm and safety found in places of retreat."
