The new Refuse series showcases Brian’s signature understated, minimalistic, analogue collage style, in which emotion is expressed through a collection of three-dimensional paper cuttings. Brian loves working with coloured cardboard and paper developing this medium into a powerful visual language. The pieces in the Refuse series rely on the emotive juxtaposition of colour and simplified manually paper cuttings. His compositions are made dramatic and effective by the frames and boxes which are also designed by Brian to form part of the whole captivating concept.
