Jules Wittock
Belgian, b. 1993
Jules Wittock (b. 1993) is a Belgian artist based in Brussels. Raised in an artistic family, he began instinctively drawing labyrinths as a child — a meditative, almost therapeutic practice that he has carried into his painting.
Working in acrylic on canvas, Wittock builds dense, intricate labyrinths that cover the surface in a single continuous line. Each maze holds a solution, and within the pattern hidden words are buried, waiting to be found by the patient eye.
At once rigorous and playful, his paintings turn looking into a slow, absorbing act. The works exist somewhere between drawing and meditation, inviting the viewer to lose — and then find — themselves.
